About EKSDC
EKSDC aims to deliver sustainable projects within its target area that facilitate the creation of employment opportunities.
The company is a local authority controlled company incorporated in April 2002. The company’s operating area covers Canterbury, Folkestone, Hythe, Dover, Thanet and surrounding areas. Over the past 12 years the EKSDC has been actively involved in developing business centres in the region.
The first, Canterbury Innovation Centre, opened in December 2009 and was funded through the SEEDA. This was followed by the Aylesham Employment Project: a development of Garrity House, a modern office building, and a block of 7 workshops ranging from 1000 to 2000 sq ft.
In 2017 the company refitted and purchase Clover House Whistable, an office building that had previously been empty for 3 years. This has now become a thriving business centre.
During 2020 to 2021 the company purchased the lease of 16 Bouverie Place, Folkestone and refitted to a high spec office building.
All our centres offer easy in/easy out terms, 24/7 access and are developed to a high standard. All building except Clover House have a BREEAM rating of very good or higher.
